![]() ![]() Using empirical examples, this paper presents and discusses the video recording of sketching sessions. The purpose of this paper is to explore what happens when an extra layer of video recording is added during the early sketching phases. ![]() Traditionally, designers across various disciplines have used sketching as an integrative part of their everyday practice, and sketching has proven to have a multitude of purposes in professional design. This process links various sketching techniques and creative reflection processes to video productions. This paper introduces a video sketching technique applied to learning settings and investigates what participants learn from creating and redesigning videos while sketching. Also it shows that there is a need for more professional development and faculty support in enhancing their technological proficiency and pedagogical tools. This study concluded that online and blended learning/teaching approaches offered a platform for students to be active rather than passive learners and that these methods were mostly preferred by faculty members. Based on analysis of the interviews, several professors felt their teaching productivity had increased as a result of teaching online courses, even though the challenge was an increase in their workload. The participants indicated that through online learning students were able to develop higher-order thinking skills. The results showed that faculty members participating in this study preferred online and blended learning/teaching approaches over traditional face-to-face learning/teaching approaches.
